Welsh Sale - ENTRIES HAVE STARTED ARRIVING FOR OUR APRIL 2010 WELSH FINE ART AUCTION. IF YOU HAVE A PAINTING YOU WOULD LIKE US TO CONSIDER PLEASE CALL NOW.
Our biannual auction of Welsh related paintings, held in April and October, has grown from strength to strength, and it is now recognized as the premier auction for Welsh art.
Each winter and late summer sees paintings from across the UK arriving at our saleroom. By late February and late July we begin the cataloguing and advertising process.
All paintings entered need to meet the following criteria:
We produce a glossy A4 hardcopy catalogue but more importantly, these days, the catalogue is available on our web site with every painting represented by an image. During the run up to the April 2006 Welsh auction, we received over 5000 hits to our catalogues. Within our on-line Welsh Sale catalogue people can browse the paintings and leave on-line bids.
Advertising is crucial to the success of the sale and so the paintings are advertised UK-wide, Wales-wide and in local press. The internet is an additional advertising medium.
Since its inception, each Welsh sale has seen a packed out auction room. There is a real buzz of excitement during sale day, with many of the buyers having traveled long distances to view and bid. The greatest proportion of the bidders, it has to be said, are Welsh and are intent on taking a bit of framed Welsh culture or heritage home with them.
If you think that you may have a painting that you would like to sell in The Welsh Sale please call us to discuss the work.
