As valuers and auctioneers specializing in antiques and chattels we can offer a quick, confidential and inexpensive valuation service which in most, if not all cases, will be accepted without question by insurance companies and the police.
We can provide a “total contents” valuation and inventory service if necessary. In most cases, however, a selective valuation of the most valuable items is what most householders seek. We can advise accordingly, depending on your, and your company’s policy stipulations.
Two copies of the valuation are prepared, one of which is recommended as retained outside the property. A valuation brochure with current rate of charges is available on request
Our fees are charged £60 per hour office to office +0.5% of the valuation figure +VAT at the current rate.
The hourly charge comprises:
A valuation totalling £20,000 and taking three hours to prepare would cost £180 +0.5% totalling £280 +VAT
In times of near zero inflation, most valuations will stand a householder in good stead for at least three years. The annual cost spread over this period in the above example would therefore be mere £85 pus VAT. (This represents a very small and worthwhile addition to your annual insurance premium).
For an additional £15 your valuation can be accompanied by up to 24 colour prints of the most valuable items or groups of items in the valuation. This would be a further useful aid in the event of having to make a claim.
