Fresh legs for Kyffin
The appetite for works by Sir Kyffin Williams is surely at an all time high as shown in our most recent Welsh Sale auction.
In our latest Welsh Sale in July 2024, an astonishing 32 out of 32 works by Sir Kyffin Williams found new homes. With the Kyffin section contributing an incredible £247,280 to the sale total.
So, it is natural to wonder, who is buying his work and where are these paintings going?
The simple answer is that works by Kyffin are going to collectors across the UK. Paintings have now been shipped off to north Wales, London, Hampshire, West Wales, South Wales and the West Country.
But what is interesting is that in the last Welsh Sale five of the oils sold to new clients demonstrating that Sir Kyffin is gaining new fans - it is hugely encouraging. Us auctioneers are regularly hearing of art buyers wanting to purchase their first Kyffin.
The market really is thriving.
The top prices for Kyffin's work in the last few years have been at our Welsh Sale auction, this includes the world record at £62000
